The 7 wastes are:
• Defects
• Overproduction
• Transportation of product
• Waiting
• Inventory
• Motion of people
• Processing
Students participating in a education program at IDEXX Laboratories made a video to illustrate the 7 wastes. This video reminds me of the Toast Kaizen video.
Do you have a favorite 7 or 8 Wastes video that you use for demonstration with your teams?

A few years ago on LinkedIn there was a survey where thousands of Lean experts participated in. For over a year the question was asked what do you think the 8th waste is? I think it was concluded from that survey that the 8th waste was lost human potential. Not sure if that opinion is held through out the Lean industry view.
